SAPF SCHOLARS Information

For Pianists ages 23 and under

The 2010 San Angelo Piano Festival will be held Thursday, March 25 – Sunday, March 28, 2010 in San Angelo, Texas. Most activities will take place at Angelo State University, but the “Festival Finale” will once again take place at the San Angelo Museum of Art. This year’s festival will feature guest artists Dr. Michelle Schumann, an outstanding pianist and teacher from the Austin area, and up-and-coming violin virtuoso Iryna Krechkovsky collaborating with festival director Michael Schneider!

The SAPF Young Artists Program is now called SAPF SCHOLARS. The application process to become an SAPF Scholar is the same (see application form attached), but in addition to playing in master classes and performances, Scholars will have the opportunity to help SAPF ‘behind the scenes’. This could include assisting at guest artist concerts, helping setup for the Thursday night ‘Kick-Off” Party, and also helping to promote the festival. While not required, SAPF strongly encourages the Scholars and their parents to take part in helping create this successful event.

Each Young Artist will perform in one master class session, attend the collaborative session, perform in the showcase recital, and will receive complimentary tickets to the Friday and Saturday night SAPF concerts. Scholars are encouraged to attend all SAPF events.
